Gallons of golden rum, miles of golden sand, hours of golden sunshine; it can only mean one place….Jamaica. It is only this fabulous country where it has its own timescale and just oozes with paradise.
You can visit a crocodile farm or climb Dunn’s River falls. Snorkelling is great swimming past the coral, and above water, you can just chill to the sound of the Jamaican Reggae beat. There is opportunity to check out the interesting Bob Marley Museum or to practise your swing at one of the island’s most challenging golf courses.
Jamaica is a dream come true destination and what you see is what everyone dreams the Caribbean to be. The white sands fringed by palms and ramshackle beach bars serving up jerk chicken to Bob Marley beats. The island has got its fair share of history too with its age-old mansions and 18th century plantations. In Kingston, its capital the streets are packed with colonial buildings and museums that tell the story of its past. There is a lot of colonial history links, namely the fact that towns have familiar names such as Cambridge, Falmouth, Birmingham and London!
There are luxury beach front hotels which sit shoulder to shoulder with bars and nightclubs. In Montego Bay you’ll find glitzy malls but in Negril you’ll see rainbow coloured bric-a-brac huts. There are magnificent Blue Mountains to catch your eye, and overall wonderful panoramic views.
Jamaican food is full of fire and spice and local dishes include curried goat, jerk chicken and rice, salt fish, and patties. Jamaican rum is world famous as is Blue Mountain coffee. To cool down, there are a whole range of fruit juices available.
Horse riding, mountain biking, quad biking, safari rides and caving are all popular pastimes when on holiday in Jamaica. There are beautiful churches and plenty of sights to see. Jamaica is a holiday of a lifetime!
